Charles Harper House is a supported housing scheme in Basildon for people with learning difficulties and sensory issues.
The scheme consists of eight self-contained flats, two on-site offices, a communal area and a large garden.
We offer specialist support for people with learning difficulties and sensory impairments such as sight, hearing issues or duel sensory loss. The building has special equipment to cater for your needs and the level of support is personalised so we can support you to work towards independence. This can include things like cooking, cleaning and shopping along with:
- Maintaining an independent tenancy
- Linking in with healthcare services
- Budgeting and managing money and benefits
- Increasing social and living skills and broader support networks
- Links into educations, training and work opportunities
Staff in the service are trained to use British Sign Language in order to be able to support you in the best possible way.
Every customer has a personalised plan that reflects their support needs and aspirations. Support workers regularly review these plans with customers to ensure that they still reflect the needs of the customer.
Staff are available to provide support 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
