Supported housing provides a safe and secure home that helps people to live independently and to achieve their aspirations.

The Government is currently reviewing how supported housing is funded. The National  Housing Federation (NHF) is leading a campaign to ensure that the Government takes this opportunity to fully fund supported housing and puts these vital services on a sustainable footing for the long term. The Starts at Home campaign aims to ensure that every person who needs extra support has a home that meets their needs. The campaign also shares positive stories of people who have gained independence, confidence and stability through supported housing.

Not only does supported housing provide a safe and secure home, it also helps people to live independently and to achieve their aspirations. There is no one type of supported housing resident – a diverse range of people in communities across the country live in supported housing: women fleeing domestic violence, war veterans adjusting to civilian life or people with learning disabilities wanting to live independently.

The NHF is seeking to create an alliance of organisations and cross-party politicians to help secure the future funding of supported housing.

So what are we doing about it? Family Mosaic is fully supporting this campaign and encourages individuals to add their voice to show their support for supported housing.
