The Essex Outreach Support Service offers visiting support to people living within the Essex area who are experiencing a range of problems that are impacting on their health, housing or financial wellbeing.
The service supports people over the age of 16 and is aimed at those who are experiencing a range of problems including financial hardship, health related problems and accessing or maintaining accommodation in their local community.
We can work with people regardless of what kind of accommodation they live in, for example council accommodation, privately rented, housing association, being an owner/occupier or currently being homeless.
We operate a free drop-in service in all the areas where our service is commissioned. We are available Monday to Friday, 8.00am to 6.00pm and we can arrange support in the evening or at weekends if required.
If you receive support from us, you will meet your Outreach worker on a regular basis, depending on your individual needs. The length of time in support with us varies dependent on the urgency of your issue.
We now offer a 3 stream system, from one-off pieces of support to a maximum of 6 months for the more complex cases. However, you may access our service as many times as is needed.
We welcome referrals from external agencies as well as directly via our free phone number (0800 28 888 83) or in person at one of our drop-ins.
Once a referral is received, it is processed by our Gateway Co-ordinator who check if the referral meets our eligibility criteria. Once accepted, the customer will be provided with a date for an assessment of their support needs.
