Congratulations to Paul Goodwill, a building services officer for Charlton Triangle Homes and one of the August Gold WOW award winners!
The WOW! Awards are the UK’s only national awards that recognise excellent customer service based purely on customer and colleague nominations.
Paul was nominated by a customer who wanted to thank him for all his support during a period harassment by her ex-partner.
She explained further in her nomination:
Paul has been a great help to me and my family. I can’t thank him enough.
My family and I have been suffering harassment from my ex-partner for nearly two years. Paul helped me by getting me a support worker, helping me keep police records, and getting a non-molestation order from court. He also got me a case hearing to get me moved from the area through Greenwich Council.
He always responded to calls and emails even when I was stressed and at the end of my patience. He spoke to me and advised me in the area office. Without him I would not have got a move to a safe place and my family would still be in danger.
It’s important to emphasise how far removed from his normal role this support was. In his day to day work, Paul is responsible for a range of things relating to the properties in Charlton, including organising repairs, carrying our property inspections and compiling specifications for work to be undertaken. All a far cry from the help that he provided in this case.
Paul’s manager Derek Brown, recognises Paul’s hard work:
Paul is a valued member of the office and frequently goes beyond the expectations of his role to help tenants and colleagues alike.
In this particular case, Paul’s first contact with the resident was a few years back in connection with a repair but he realised that she was in need of support and helped her through the process culminating in her move to a safe place.
Paul has also managed to study over the last two years and recently completed his Construction BTEC Higher National Certificate.
