A recent project, funded by the Family Mosaic Community Fund, helped over 65 customers from our older people’s services in London to create their own personalised Christmas cards.

The first task was to organise photo shoots at each of the schemes where customers donned the traditional Father Christmas cape and a festive hat of their choice.

When these photos were printed and laminated they were turned into gorgeous personalised cards for friends and loved ones.

Everyone who took part had the choice to have a plain photo taken to use instead of the festive version but most decided to get involved with the Christmas spirit.

This is the second time this project has been run and not only is it a great success but it’s also a chance for customers to show off their creative skills. In addition, friends and family the customers haven’t seen in a while get to see an up to date photo of their loved one.

But perhaps the best way to explain it comes from Linda, a customer from Plowright House in Southwark; ‘If the Royal family can send out Christmas cards with photos of themselves on the front, then why can’t we?’

It certainly did help to make a really great festive period!
