Two customers from a scheme for people with learning difficulties in Essex decided that they would like to raise some money during this year’s Red Nose Day charity fundraising event.

Stewart Jack and Jamie Marsdin, both from Charles Harper House in Basildon, first decided to organise a day to bake cakes with their life skills group from the Royal Association for the Deaf.

After a busy day baking Jamie and Stewart, along with another customer Ray, came to the Family Mosaic office in Pitsea and managed to sell all their cupcakes to grateful staff, raising over £85 in the process.

But that wasn’t enough to satisfy Stewart and Jamie. They wanted to try and raise even more money so they decided to have their legs waxed as well!

With help from support workers, they managed to find a local salon who would wax their legs for free and so these two brave souls underwent the painful procedure and raised another £270.

So, in total, Stewart and Jamie managed to raise over £350 for a very worthy cause and have some smooth legs to show for it.

Congratulations to Stewart and Jamie for all their hard work!
