Customers from our Cambria Road service recently enjoyed a summer day cruise exploring the river Thames.
Supported by staff from the specialist mental health supported housing scheme, the group met up at Cambria Road and took the bus to Westminster pier.
Everyone was very excited, asking questions about the cruise and where they were going to have lunch afterwards.
Once at Westminster pier, the group embarked on the 45-minute boat trip to Greenwich. As everyone enjoyed the scenery, the captain told stories about the buildings by the riverside and explained the mechanism of the Thames barrier itself that everyone found very interesting.
The boat stopped shortly at St Katherine’s dock where everyone enjoyed the industrial calm of the river and when we arrived at Greenwich, everyone went for lunch and had a tour of the area afterwards in search of dessert!
The bus ride back home was very peaceful with everyone chatting about the day and how nice it would be to go on another trip soon.
