New Family Mosaic customers enjoyed a day out at Southampton City Football Club last week organised by the Social Inclusion team.
The customers came from a group of sheltered housing schemes in the area whose support has recently been transferred to Family Mosaic and the event was a good chance for them to have a day out and get to know a bit more about us.
The event was held at the impressive St Mary’s stadium in the Dell Supporters bar and customers were able to experience a range of different healthy activities and information on local services in Southampton.
Along with information on Family Mosaic services like Get Connected, Greening Communities and the HIA Handyperson, other local services such as Age Concern, the Environment Agency, smoking cessation and Pets as Therapy also participated in the event.
Our customers had the opportunity to get active with folk dancing, Tai Chi and chair-based exercises along with a bit of relaxation with nail painting, henna tattoos and a craft stall.
Everyone had a great day and found all the activities and events really interesting. Hazel, a customer from Poston Court, said:
I don’t get out much but I got a lift here. I’ve had a good browse and it’s very good to get information on local services.
Ann-Maree Purnell, Social Inclusion Team Leader, was really pleased with the way the day went:
It was really encouraging to see how many of our new customers enjoyed the vast range of activities on offer which were all delivered by local community groups. Hopefully our customers can go on to access these activities in the future.
