Staff and residents of Marlborough House in St. Leonard’s celebrated Older People’s Day with a range of activities and events around the scheme on 1 October.
The sixth annual Older People’s Day was a chance to celebrate the achievements and contributions that older people make to our community.
Amongst the activities available at Marlborough House were a jumble sale, an Avon stall and a raffle. There was also an interesting health quiz that tested people’s knowledge about how healthy food can help prevent illness.
People were also able to take a break in the lounge at the scheme and watch a film showing a range of old Pathe Newsreels, bringing a slice of history back to the present day.
Staff from the local support service, STEPS, were also on hand to offer advice to older people living in the local community who may need a little extra support.
Everyone had a great time and enjoyed a free lunch after enjoying the activities on offer.
